You may have noticed a new icon appear in your system tray, next to the date & time, and wondered what it was.
Microsoft have announced that they will be releasing Windows 10 on July 29th.
If you click on the icon you can follow through the screens and reserve your copy of Windows 10 to be downloaded before the release date so that you don't have to fight the rest of the world trying to download it all at the same time.
The upgrade will be free for Windows 7 & Windows 8.1 users but only for the first year after release, after that you will have to buy it if you haven't already got it.
To check if your PC will have any problems upgrading and running Windows 10 click on the icon to open the 'Get Windows 10' window then click on the small menu icon at the top left corner, then choose the 'Check your PC' option on the menu that opens up. That will run checks and advise you of any issues.
